The West African race of this attractive bird, found from Sierra Leone to w. Cameroon. Somewhat darker than the nominate, the distinctive orange
hind-collar is the main distinguishing feature, but there has never been any suggestion of a split, as in all other respects such as habitat, behaviour etc. they are identical.
