HANUMAN PLOVER Charadrius (alexandrinus) seebohmi

A rather controversial subspecies from Sri Lanka and (possibly) Southern India. Originally described as a full species, a recent paper suggested re-splitting. As well as a distinctive plumage it is non-migratory, but despite the split being widely reported in national newspapers, it has not even appeared as a "potential" on the latest IOC list. I understand that the paper has been amended and re-written, but I was happy just to photograph it. It may also prove to be a Sri Lankan endemic.
