White-fronted Geese in England come from breeding grounds in 
northern Russia, a distinctive subspecies is dealt with next, which also occurs in England on occasion, but 
winters in Scotland and Ireland. Another three subspecies breed in Alaska and northern Canada, these winter south to 
California and Mexico, the right hand bird is an example. Juvenile birds (left) do not show the white blaze,
 and could be overlooked as Pinkfeet, but are normally accompanied by adults.
