RED-TAILED TROPICBIRD Phaethon rubricauda

Not found in the Atlantic Ocean, a smaller tropicbird which breeds on many island in the south and central Pacific, and in the Indian Ocean as far west as Madagascar, where the left hand shot was taken There are two subspecies (one for each ocean) but no suggestion of any split. They overlap with the similarly-sized White-tailed Tropicbirds, but are easily distinguished given a reasonable view.
