AUCKLAND (ISLAND) SHAG Leucocarbo colensoi

Listed as Vulnerable, this endemic has a greater population than most NZ subantarctic island species, some 4500, only Campbell Island boasts greater numbers. Found on most of the Auckland group, these were taken on Enderby. where they seem quite common. There is one record outside the islands, a bird spent seven years in a penguin colony on the Snares, where there are no cormorants.
