| Why not take up birdwatching and take stunning photographs of endemic birdlife when you embark on your holidays to Goa with family members or close friends? Goa is not only famous for the large number of golden sandy beaches and cultural heritage sites this beautiful state in South Western India has to offer its visitors. Birding or birdwatching is also a very popular tourist activity in Goa owing to its rich biodiversity with over 275 bird species alone and eco tourism is on the upswing as well. |

A popular birding destination,Goa is easily visited on a package holiday, and provides easy and enjoyable birding. There is a large variety of species including waterbirds, waders, raptors, passerines and colourful bee-eaters, rollers and kingfishers, whilst large gull flocks include many Central Asian species wintering. This makes it the best place in the world to see the superb Great Black-headed (Pallas') Gull in breeding plumage. Since our visit Backwoods Camp has opened in the Western Ghats, making even more species such as Malabar Trogon, Hornbills and Nightjars more accessible.
