Another passage migrant in the UK, but seemingly more widespread in
the Eastern hemisphere, birds are regularly encountered on wintering grounds in Africa, Australia and Asia. Breeding in
similar habitats to Green Sandpiper, but the range extends further north, and birds seem to be far commoner
in the east.
