Breeding across Eurasia with some populations migratory, it breeds on gravelly shorelines, a recent adaptation to gravel-pits and similar has resulted in a population increase in Britain. Although similar to Ringed and Semipalmated Plovers, the right-hand photo indicates that it is quite distinctive and indeed little. |
