INDIAN STONE-CURLEW Burhinus indicus

Split from Eurasian Stone-Curlew a few years ago, it has taken me a while to add this species, courtesy of a trip to Sti Lanka. There they are often seen in the open during daylight, although invariably not very active. Smaller and darker but proportionally longer-legged, they are non-migratory although this is probably just because of their southerly distribution.
