Another attractive gull, found along the coastline of the Northern Humboldt current. Their breeding areas are well inland in the Atacama Desert, where chicks are left alone to trust the parents return with food before they succumb to the heat. The strategy has its benefits, as there are no predators in the nesting areas. |
