A familiar passage migrant in the UK, with a number of birds now
overwintering, this species tends to be rather secretive, occuring in small numbers and keeping to the reed edges.
It breeds in damp wooded regions across Europe and Asia (except UK), and winters from West Africa to South-east Asia.
