Forming a superspecies with Black-winged and Oriental, all three are difficult to distinguish without good views, which is why many British records refer to Pratincole sp. Geographically, this is the westernmost of the three, its main range being from Iberia to Central Asia in a fairly narrow band, migrating to many parts of Africa south of the Tropic of Capricorn. |
