SOUTH AMERICAN PAINTED SNIPE Rostratula semicollaris

Even more secretive and crepuscular than the previous species, and nomadic to boot, this can be one of the hardest birds in the world to find.
These admittedly poor record shots are the result of many hours searching in the Buenos Aires region, including a trip
specifically to see this and Olrog's Gull. Ann found it eventually at dusk on our last day!
