YELLOW-BILLED SPOONBILL Platalea flavipes

Easily identified by its bill (Royal's is black) this species is usually encountered in quite small numbers, often on quite small bodies of water such as farm dams. The odd bird occasionally joins flocks of Royal Spoonbill, unlike that species it is an endemic, not even occuring on Tasmania.
