FASCIATED TIGER-HERON Tigrisoma fasciatum

Fasciated Tiger-herons are less widespread than the previous species, their preferred habitat being fast-flowing montane streams. They are still found in many South America countries but not in Amazonas. The two left-hand birds were photographed in Venezuela, the immature in Costa Rica, where they are vastly outnumbered by Bare-throated.
