TRUMPETER SWAN Cygnus buccinator

From a small endangered population in the North-west of the USA, this species has recovered and now breeds from Alaska to the Great Lakes and in scattered portions of the Northern Rockies. A large distinctive swan wintering as far south as northern Texas, the centre photo was taken on Vancouver Island before the range expansion, whereas all other photos are from the Lake Erie area, probably birds on migration.
