EGYPTIAN GOOSE Alopochen aegyptica

Widespread in sub-Saharan Africa, but the range has contracted somewhat, birds now being found mainly in the east and south. Formerly occurred further north, especially in Egypt, where it is now only common around the Aswan dam region. Found in wetland areas and fields, even at some altitude (the right hand shot was in the Bale Mountains) with some dispersal in the wet season, usually further north. Of course it doesn't excite most British birders as there is a large, increasing feral population in East Anglia.
