BROWN BOOBY Sula leucogaster

Of similar distribution to Red-footed Booby, but tends to stay within 90Km of the coast, so not seen so frequently at sea. There are four races described, the front-page and left-hand birds are plotus found in the central and western Pacific and Indian Oceans. The centre bird is from Ascension, (nominate) whilst the right hand bird is brewsteri, Brewster's Booby, which has been proposed as a split. This is a female, males have greyish heads.
